Everybody says he's bigger than they pictured.
:-) Took him for his checkup
yesterday. They were just amazed by him. The doctor said he was one of
the healthiest and easiest to handle birds she's seen in a long time.
He was a hit in the waiting room too. And, he wasn't bothered at all by
the commotion. I actually think he was trying to show off for
everybody. When we got home he was all tuckered out and took a nap on
my chest.
The blood work should be back early next week. But, I'm sure everything will be fine. Thanks again! Matthew Jovies Greys wrote:

Hi Gary & JovieJust wanted to update you on Toby and Koby.Koby is 8 1/2 months old now and he's learning more things to say all the time. He started talking so young; around 4 1/2 - 5 months. Toby is who he pays the most attention to for learning words.Koby is the pushy one. I walked out of the sunroom one day and left them on their separate play areas. I saw their reflection in the glass and Koby had joined Toby on his play stand. Everything was fine until I walked in then they acted like they were fighting. Since Koby is flighted he makes his way into Toby's area all the time now and pretty much anywhere else he feels like - HAHA!!A big surprise was Koby's "attraction" to Buddy (the dog). He loves Buddy so much that he brought up food for him. I was surprised when that happened!! They sit together on the couch and look out the window - what a pair. I watch them like a hawk and never let them stay together very long.In addition to the new words he's learned, Koby counts to 5 and spells Toby's name. I've been working with him to spell his name and I'm sure he will before long. He does most of the sounds that Toby does and has some he's started that Toby picked up immediately. They are both so much fun and I enjoy listening to them talk, whistle and make sounds.I've let Lacey grow her flight feathers out just in case Koby decided to visit her area. So far, he only joins Toby and leaves Lacey alone.Hope all is alright up your way. You can keep this cold weather up there!! HAHAHA!!!Carolynn

Hi Gary and Jovie,
Chiku is 1 year old today, we wanted to send you a couple of pics and
let
you know how he is doing.
He is learning so fast, I think he knows around 30 words and phrases
now.
He's sitting on the computer monitor right now, chatting, asking me,
"what
you do?" He is the best little guy, thanks again for breeding such
wonderful
comapnions. There is one pic of "after shower" and one of his "mansion"
and
all his toys.

Gary and Jovie,
Thought I would send a message and pics of how Monty is doing. He is great! He has started to lay his head down for scratches. He whistles like crazy….and he has the microwave beep down to a T. He came up with that one day and it sounded so familiar…I couldn’t figure out where he got it from till I heated up his dinner that night and after the microwave beeped that it was done and Monty answered right back…I just laughed. When I get home if I don’t get to let him out quick enough he goes to the bottom of his cage and sticks his head in the corner and scratches like his is going to dig his way out of the cage. Oh yeah he is also trying to bark like the dogs. No words yet. But you can tell he is trying. I nick named him Taz…cause he sounds like a taz devil when he is on his bong upside down flapping his wings. He just loves to hang upside down on that rope!!! Oh yeah he can also fly from one end of the house to the other even with 4 feathers clipped! It is amazing!! Well I hope you enjoy the pics!!!

PS Yes he still like to stand on our heads!!!! Lucky for us he wears his flight suit! LOL J

Chiku is roughly 7 months old
Gary & Jovie,
Chiku is the most loving baby I could imagine. I am telling all who
ask, who
raised him. I am so happy to have found you. He has adjusted well, he
is
whistling the Andy Griffeth theme, he says Uh Oh, how you doing, good
boy,
want out and is muttering a lot. I just wanted to keep you updated on
his
progress, he is a very good boy. At bedtime he crawls into a towel on
my lap
and goes to sleep. When we go to bed, I put him, in the towel, on the
bottom
of his cage and he sleeps like that all night.
Thank you again for this precious baby.

Dear Gary & Jovie;
We have had one of your babies for one year now, and I thought you would like to know about him.
“Monty’ has positively exceeded all our expectations, and continues to surprise us almost daily.
He is fast becoming quite the talker, but more than that is his desire to be emotionally interactive. Because some is usually home with him, he has been talked to and worked with a lot. Many times daily. Although he is also quite content to play quietly by himself in his cage when we are busy.
I would like to commend you because we believe our success is a direct result of how well you raise your babies. I can tell how well socialized, played with, and loved early, long, and well. Making him a confident, emotionally stable bird. We would not hesitate for one second in getting another one of your birds. Thank you Gary and Jovie for your commitment to these unique birds.
Sincerely,
Jim & Diane Anderson

Hi!
I just wanted to give you an update on our little Tulip! She is just
the best!!! She did wonderful on the ride home, sat on various
shoulders all the way. It seems she adjusted immediately, she acts like she has
been with us all along. I offered her some of her baby food by spoon
and she refused it. (I'm still going to keep it handy) Everyone just
adores her, she's such a sweetheart!!! A million thanks to you both for
raising such wonderful babies!
Jodi
I have been searching for a Grey for months. I have emailed dozens of people selling Greys, looked at birds, scouted rescues and pet stores, talked to breeders and I have to tell you your birds are wonderful! It is not hard to tell that you actually care about the birds and spend a lot of time with them.
Hello,
Just wanted you to know that BABY is a little
BOY....
and here are a couple pictures. Also he is
spoiled...lol. he goes to bed
with me in the evenings when I am in bed watching
tv and we cuddle and talk
till I get sleepy then I put him in his room for the
night. He has to be
right where I am all the time.
Anyway this is just FYI
Paula and the parrot that owns me.
The baby arrived, safe and sound…he is beautiful and exactly as I hoped he would be!! I will write more tomorrow after he has had a chance to settle in…Thanks!!! And, rest assured, he will be very loved!

hi there
again
the baby is doing fine
i have been keeping her company
she slept on me saturday night while i watched TV from 9:30 p.m. to
3:00
a.m. it was soo cute
and on sunday afternoon we all took a nap she slept on the top of the
headboard on the bed while we slept in bed
she is doing well
and we decided to name her Coalie (a.k.a. Charcoal)
found out she loves bananas
i was on the phone today and found her eating out of the cat dish... i
hope
it will not hurt her at all it was salmon flavored hard kitty food, she
must
have thought it was the dog food :)
she is still a little clumsy but learning her way around
so far it seems that she is right footed, two times she held the food
with
it and when she sleeps her right foot is always cuddled into her chest
she is a joy
thank you :)
